1963 LAKE TITICACA PERU at an altitude of 3,812 metres (12,507 feet) in the Andes mountains. A group of Aymara women and two men on the Uros islands of floating totora reed in the Bay of Puno. The reed which grows abundantly around the shore of the lake is used for mats, houses and previously for reed-bundle rafts known as balsas.

Camera: MPP Microflex Twin Lens Reflex with F3.5 77.5mm Taylor Taylor Hobson lens. Film Kodak Verichrome Pan at F5.6 - 1/300 second. Developed by hand in Lima using Kodak Microdol at normal dilution.
