1969 Falkland Islands (Malvinas). On Carcass Island, West Falkland, Kitty Bertrand spinning wool. She kept the spinning wheel which had been in her family for many years, in her conservatory where sun through the glass gave her warmth even in winter. The wool came directly from the thousands of sheep kept by the Bertrands on their island.

Camera: Nikon F 35mm Single Lens Reflex with Nikkor 50 mm F 1.4 lens. Film - Kodak Plus X Pan 1/500 second F5.6. Developed by hand in Stanley in the darkroom of local photographer John Leonard using Kodak Microdol at normal dilution.
