1960 November - India. A farmer with his cows near the village of Pusegaon on the Deccan plateau in Maharashtra State. Here the land is about 2,500 feet above sea level and dry for much of the year. The cattle although supremely cared for were noticeably thin.

Camera MPP Microflex Twin Lens Reflex with F3.5 77.5mm Taylor Taylor Hobson lens - yellow filter 1x. Film Kodak Verichrome Pan at F5.6 - 1/300 second. Developed by hand in Koregaon using May and Baker Promicrol at normal dilution with water from the village well.
