NONESUCH SILVER PRINTS
Unique photographs on silver from the 1950s and 1960s
from Nonesuch Expeditions

1960 October - India. Between the villages of Aundh and Koregaon in Maharashtra state. A family with their bullock cart on the road. The route was literally a muddy, dirt track and we had to use it almost every day for a month while recording the life of three villages. Our project for the University Expedition principally concerned the rural economy - this is how it moved.

Camera MPP Microflex Twin Lens Reflex with F3.5 77.5mm Taylor Taylor Hobson lens - yellow filter 1x. Film Kodak Verichrome Pan at F8 - 1/300 second. Developed by hand in Aundh using May and Baker Promicrol at normal dilution with water from the village well.
