1954 England. Near West Buckland, Somerset. At harvest time the straw was gathered in to be kept as animal food. The carts in this area still had spoked wooden wheels and iron rims made by a blacksmith. This is one of a set of rural life I created in my earliest days of photography.

Camera: A West German Baldix 77.5 mm F4.5 Westar three element lens, Prontor S shutter. Film Kodak Verichrome Pan 1/ 30 second at F5.6. Developed by hand using Kodak D 163 at normal dilution.
